The Little Things

Hello, lovelies.

Life for me recently has been nothing but stress on top of stress, on top of travelling, on top of just general busy life. Sometimes when things get really hectic I find it hard to concentrate on the little things that make every day special and worth getting out of bed for.

I guess I'm making this post as a reminder to myself, and to you, that every day is filled to the brim with little bits and pieces of beautiful that add into one big picture, one big crazy, hectic, gorgeous, colourful, loud, wild, roller coaster of a picture.

So, without further babbling, here is the aforementioned list:

  • Fresh bed sheets
  • Lighting new candles
  • Fluffy blankets
  • Train tickets
  • Train journeys
  • Orgasms
  • Seeing live bands
  • Finding new music
  • Meeting new people
  • Connecting with said people
  • New seasons on Netflix
  • Clean, dry pjs
  • Disney movies
  • Showers
  • Lazy Sundays
  • Lying down after a long day
  • Naps
  • Painting
  • Gardening
  • Something you ordered online arriving
  • Falling in love
  • The smell of bookstores/the library
  • Long car rides
  • Waking up happy
  • Thunder storms during a really hot summer
  • The deep breath you take after crying
  • Planning a party
  • Wide open windows in the summer
  • A proper 8 hours of sleep
  • Arriving at the beach
  • Days out
  • Shopping sprees
  • The first hot day of the year
  • Hugging someone you haven't seen in a while
  • Learning another language
  • When children draw you pictures
  • Phoning a friend
  • Spending time with your mother
  • The window seat on an airplane
  • Pens that write really, REALLY well.
  • When you realize things aren't always as bad as they seem
  • The anticipation for something you've been waiting for finally coming up
and last but not least:
  • Coming to the realization that you are living your life for you, and no one else.
I hope this list has brought some happiness to you if you're having a bad day, or maybe it's just reminded you to go phone that friend you've been thinking about phoning for a week, but haven't gotten round to yet because you've just been so busy.

Take some time, notice the little things, and realize how happy it all makes you.

See you next time, then.

My First Tattoo

Hello, lovelies!

Yesterday I got my first tattoo! A little Hidden Mickey on the back of my neck. Disney has always had the biggest place in my heart, having been my escape from depression, eating disorders, my family breaking up, bullying, and so many more other awful things that life decided to throw at me. I use the movies and soundtracks to distract myself, cheer myself up and make me feel empowered, like if the characters could get through whatever hardships they're going through, I can get through whatever I'm going through.

I've been planning my tattoos since I was 14, and I knew that at least one of my tattoos would be Disney themed. Honestly, I'm glad it was my first one.

My friend Eve came with me for moral support (which turned into her taking photos of me through the glass between the waiting room and the studio.) But all in all, she really did make me feel better about the whole thing. She said she was more nervous than I was, that she was sat in the waiting room feeling sick with nerves for me, so I think she took all of my nerves away from me.

Pre-tattoo excitement!

My artist is a man who did all of my Mum's tattoos, so I trusted him straight off. He made me feel at ease, and eventually had to tell my mum and Eve to get away from the door because they were making me shake. I honestly wasn't nervous until he put the transfer on, then I was - pardon my language - absolutely shitting myself.

It only took about five minutes to do, and once I got used to the sensation of the gun, it was completely fine. It stung a little when it got nearer the bone, but that's the same with every tattoo. Taking the wrapping off when I got home was so exciting to me, I had Eve stood ready with the camera and Mum had the Bepanthen at the ready so she could clean it.

I've spent the last 24 hours sat on my dressing table, looking in the front camera of my phone to see how gorgeous it is in the mirror. I'm totally in love, and I don't think I could ever explain how much this tattoo means to me. It's my own little personal reminder that when things get awful, I always have something to escape to. It's the start of a better life for me, a happier, more confident life.

After all, it all started with a mouse.

I'll see you next time, then.

MarHasThatBow Review

Hello, lovelies!

Recently, I stumbled upon the most gorgeous little independent store on Instagram. Does anyone else do that thing where you see a user liking your friends picture and you go and have a bit of a nosey? Well, that's what I done, and that's how I came across Mar.

Living in Florida, Mar has 4200 Instagram followers, most of which are obsessive Disney fans like myself, and all of which are IN LOVE with the hand-made, unique bows that Mar sells. She calls us her #Bowtifuls. Adorable, right?

I couldn't put off purchasing my own any longer, and the ever lovely Mar did give me a discount code, so I bought two!

The one that had caught my eye originally is the gorgeous big yellow Tinkerbell bow. I sometimes find it incredibly hard to find cute Peter Pan merchandise, so spotting the selection that Mar has was such a happy day for me.

Attached to a Crocodile clip, the bright yellow bow sports a gorgeous Tinkerbell cameo. I'm not usually a big fan of yellow, but thought I should try and come away from always wearing black since it's coming into Spring, so the bright colour matched with the green frame of Tink's cameo felt lovely and Springy, and also a great way to add a pop of colour to any outfit.

The second one I got was the most adorable bow I've ever seen in my life. Black and white, Mickey and Minnie with red accents, it's classic, it's simple and it's gorgeous. I wore it around my niece, and she's absolutely head over heels in love with them too.

With super fast delivery, and such friendly customer service, Mar really is an absolute sweetheart. Talented and a devote Disney lover too, obviously.

Safe to say I'll be making at least 9 more purchases from Mar, I'm already planning to give my niece a collection of them for Christmas, as well as buy myself some more!

Mar, I hope you have a fabulous time in Disney World, I'm extremely jealous!

Well, lovelies, that's it! I hope you enjoyed, and I really do suggest you go check out Mar's store, which I have linked above but will link again HERE

I'll see you next time, then.

March Wishlist

Hello, lovelies!

I'm seriously struggling to believe that it's already March. Especially since it's been snowing super bad here and I can't seem to get any heat in my body at all. Spring? Please. Winter 2.0 has a better ring to it.

Anyway, the fact of the matter is it is March, which means you all get to see the things I'm hoping to purchase this month.

1 & 2. Drop Dead 'After Midnight' Shirt &  'Stripe' Crop Hoodie

I've been watching the Gremlins movies since I was about 3, honestly. When I was a baby no hair grew on the sides of my head, so my parents nick-named me after Stripe (the handsome fellow on the hoodie bellow.) Thanks, guys.

You can only imagine my excitement when I found out Drop Dead were going to be releasing a Gremlins line, and I knew as soon as I seen this shirt that I had to have it. I'm a sucker for collared, patterned shirts recently, and this one would be so perfect for my collection. It's a bit of a stretch at £60, but well, well worth it. Drop Dead are always amazing quality, the last shirt I bought from them I bought back in 2009, and only had to get rid of last year because it was too big for me and I didn't think I was at an age where I could get away with wearing a very Scene Kid "Party til you puke" shirt any longer. Oh well, those were the days.

The hoodie caught my eye because of Stripe. He's my favourite little shit in the entire movie (beside Gizmo, of course) and I would probably never take this off. It's quite pricey as well, at £55, but like I said above, for Drop Dead quality? Worth it.

Links to both products are HERE and HERE

3. Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Afternoon Tea

Tanya is a massive inspiration to me, and I absolutely adore her make-up line. Since it's coming into Spring (allegedly,) I like to ditch my darker coloured lips and go for softer, lighter colours such as pink and beige. Afternoon Tea is a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous pink shade from Tanya's lipgloss line, and I've been in love with it since I set my eyes on it. If I could I would have everything from her line.

4. Too Faced The Absolute Essentials - Professional 5 Piece Brush Set

I am in desperate need for some new make-up brushes -- no matter how much my mother likes to argue that I have enough, and I've heard very good things about these brushed. Made with "Teddy Bear Hair" instead of animal hair, they have the same softness and silky smoothness of regular brushes only with the added bonus of them being totally cruelty free. Score? Score. Plus, how cute is the free carry case?

5. Urban Decay Naked "Basics" Palette

As much as I love my Naked palette, having to lug it around in my make-up bag all the time does make it a bit heavy, so the basics palette is really an essential purchase this month, and if not this month then sometime soon, at least. With it's basic matte colours in both super light and dark shades,  it's perfect for just chucking into your bag for a day/night out.

Well, lovelies, that's that!

I'll see you next time, then.

Lush Granny Takes A Dip Bath Bomb Review

Hello, lovelies!

Now, I know I posted a Lush review not too long ago, but I've been having a very bad time of it with my mental health state this past week -- hence the horrific lack of posts, and a good Lush bath is a way for me to relax and try to bring myself back to myself. So, that's what I did.

This time it's their "Granny Takes A Dip" bath bomb!

"This ginger, pepper and lemon-scented bath bomb turns your water psychedelic and puts some colour in your life. Simply drop into a warm bath and watch as it's fizzing centre dissolves into multi-coloured waters. It's spicy, citrusy scent will pep you up: lemon oil boost the mood, while ginger and pepper are warming." - lush.co.uk

The colours and scents of this bath bomb are completely mesmerizing. I was totally drawn to it when I seen it in the store, and I recognised it from a lot of blog posts very much like this one, singing it's praises. Pairing this with a mix of The 1975 and One Direction's new album (Stockholm Syndrome could come on while I'm in public and I'd still find a way to bust out some horrific singing) playing, I managed to bring myself from my slump, to somewhat human.

It took a good while for it to fizz through all the colours completely, and every time I noticed a new colour coming through I had to snap photos of it. In fact, a friend of mine received a Snapchat video of how cool it was. I was totally blown away.

Eventually, the water does settle into a deep purple colour, much like Vimpto.

Typical bath photo, but I couldn't get over just how lovely the colour had gone. My cousin had recently told me that when she used this bath bomb, the colour had gone a lot more murky, and I've seen a few people on here say so as well, but I was more than impressed. It left my skin lovely and smooth, like most lush products should, and I still smell vaguely like ginger.

Overall, I absolutely loved it. One again everything Lush has done with this is completely perfect, from colour to design to scent, I have another new favourite to add to my ever growing list.

Just a short post to get me back into the swing of writing, because I always seem to lose touch with it when I'm struggling. I hope this was alright for you all, lovelies, and as usual -

I'll see you next time, then.
